  • Coming July 22-23! Click for details.

Today’s program is for all kids everywhere who came of age in the 80s and 90s and for those of us who are still “kids” today.

749486080

It’s a Wenge Musica special. We’ll have songs by most of the main players and by associates, siblings and friends. There can be no doubt that this group of artists was one of the most influential and popular dance and party bands in its day.

There’s no way to cover anything close to everyone or every offshoot of the band that was begun in the late 70s, formally named in 1983 and began to break up with members going separate ways in the early 90s.

Many of the members are still active today, but Werrason is by far the most prolific.

Ndombolo!

“What the Fontaine?!: You never know what you’ll hear next on this fun mix of tunes from across the decades and musical genres.”

KaineWatch ended a short while ago … our RVA guy is gonna be Hillary Clinton’s Vice Presidential running mate! Whether you like his politics or not, you gotta admit it’s exciting to have a local guy on the ticket. He’s been my city council representative, mayor, lieutenant governor, governor, senator, even DNC chair. He lives near me, and I noticed local news trucks out front of his house this afternoon. … Oh yeah, I’m DJing tonight 9-11pmEDT on WRIR, then again Saturday 6-8pm with Ben & Chaz from The Veins. Tune in!
