Over the Edge facebook squareFirst hour of the show has an americana vibe for the “wide eared listener” (apologies Eric Walters), with a touch of power pop, and then we will be off and running with some hiphop,  R&B, indie and mambo sets.  Lot of personal favorities in this show and a lot of new releases to go along with the couple of “classics” included.  Enjoy all of that.

Next week we do a Richmond Folk Festival OTEOPN style  and then its two shows in conjunction with the Fund Drive.  Please get ready to donate!!  October is going to be intense and good.  Looking  forward to all of it!     DJ Otto JD

Hey Listeners,

I know it’s un-American to suggest you not watch the Presidential debate, but why not turn the volume off and crank up The Haberdasher. Lots of great tracks lined up. Shout out to Helen for rocking it last week.

We were really sorry about the death of Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural Jr., leader of the Grammy- and Emmy-winning Buckwheat Zydeco and Ils Sont Partis Band, died last Saturday. Dural, who had lung cancer, was 68. This program is dedicated to his memory and all the great music he shared with the world as an ambassador or Zydeco and Louisiana. Rest in peace, Buckwheat ….

Today’s Lost Music Saloon bids a fond farewell to the Summer of 2016. We’re now past the unofficial end of summer (Labor Day weekend); the astronomical end of summer (the autumnal equinox); and, as of this week, it looks like we’re heading for regular daytime temps in the 70’s and nighttime temps in the 50’s – – in other words, fall weather. So I’ll be airing a whole bunch of summer songs, both old and new; both familiar and less so, to bid summer goodbye. Enjoy!

Oh…I’ll also be giving away two tickets to go see Blitzen Trapper in C’ville at The Southern this coming Saturday, Oct 1st. Stay tuned for details.
