Live Music Center of 2013 Fund Drive

Hoax Hunters Live

WRIR kicks off its March fund raising campaign in the community with an early evening show Friday, March 8 at Strange Matter (929 West Grace Street in Richmond’s Fan District). The three bands -- Hoax Hunters, Sacred Teachers, and Brandi Price & Kyle Harris -- each featuring members of Richmond group The Diamond Center --- will take the stage at Strange Matter beginning at 5 PM.

On air, WRIR’s first fund drive show Friday evening features a live in studio performance on the WRIR show “Global A Go-Go“ by Quatro na Bossa, a bossa nova quartet featuring vocalist Laura Ann Singh. On Saturday afternoon March 9, League of Space Pirates (featuring Richmond graphic artist Noah Scalin) will perform on “River City Limits,” and, the following Sunday morning, the Jason Jenkins Quartet plays for WRIR’s “Bebop and Beyond.”

Nick Coward and The Last Battle will perform Wednesday March 13 at 7 PM in WRIR’s “Activate with Mike Rutz.” Organ Donor appears on “What the Fontaine” Friday, March 15. Marionette and Olde Shame play Saturday (in “The New Breakfast Snob” and “River City Limits,” respectively), and the Larri Branch Trio visits “Bebop & Beyond” on Sunday March 17.

We'll be updating the list of bands throughout the fund drive so come back to wrir.org for the latest information and stayed tuned in to 97.3FM.
