What the Fontaine?!

Fontaine | Friday 9 - 11pm

What the Fontaine?!: You never know what you'll hear next on this fun mix of tunes from across the decades and musical genres.  On any given week I might play punk, funk, rock, blues, hip-hop, jazz, reggae, electronica, country, rockabilly, new wave, industrial, African, metal, soul, classical, go-go, gospel, cajun, local music or whatever else I can think of.  Often there are themes and occasionally local band interviews.

Fontaine has been an indie radio DJ in Richmond, VA since the 1980s.  In addition to hosting WTF since Summer 2008, she is among the rotating cast of DJs bringing you the 80s show (Songs From the Big Hair, Saturdays 3-5 PM) and the local band show (River City Limits, Saturdays 5-7PM).

And that's just the start of the weekend! RPG, Iggy Plop, Occultist, Weedeater, and many other bands are playing in town. Be sure to have fun, and to make it home safely.

5/17/13 WTF: Yard Work, Children of Nuggets, & Some Funky Stuff

"What the Fontaine?!: You never know what you'll hear next on this fun mix of tunes from across the decades and musical genres."

I did a bunch of yard work earlier, but now it's time for some music! I heard Paul Ivey playing a lot of Nuggets-type 60s stuff on Salad Days, so I thought I'd start off with some Children of Nuggets (80s bands influenced by the 60s bands). Plus I've got some funky tunes for later in the show. Tune in 9-11pmEDT.

5/10/13 WTF: Sick Day (Mostly L Thru Z)

"What the Fontaine?!: You never know what you'll hear next on this fun mix of tunes from across the decades and musical genres."

I've got a bit of the ole Spring cold. To make it easier tonight, I grabbed a bunch of CDs from racks that have mostly L through Z artist names. So let's see what we come up with! Probably some Lydia Lunch, Roxy Music, Young Black Teenagers, White Zombie, and several compilation CDs. Tune in 9-11pmEDT.
