WRIR Underwriting is a great way to get the word out about what your organization offers or a special event. By underwriting on WRIR, you not only get in front of thousands within Richmond’s Creative Community, you are able to co-brand your organization with WRIR in front of an extraordinarily loyal and committed listenership.

Visibility – Underwriters seeking to make listeners aware of who they are & what they offer may wish to have a schedule of spots that runs for 6 or more weeks, with spots during targeted portions of the broadcast day. For instance, a schedule that runs daily at the same time; a schedule that includes 3 or more music shows on one night; a schedule that  includes multiple days of a daily show.

Event Announcements – An underwriter looking to promote a particular event will run a heavy schedule of underwriting spots one or two weeks prior to an event.

WRIR Supporter – By being known as a financial supporter of WRIR, an Underwriter taps the extremely positive and loyal emotions of WRIR listeners. A broader schedule, over a variety of programs, reminds those who already may be aware of your organization that you support WRIR and are an active member of our community.

All Schedules Are Customized & Targeted – As a WRIR Underwriter, you will have a schedule of spots specifically designed to reach the right audience for your message. There are no required tie-in spots in any contracts. WRIR will work with you to craft a clear & efficient message, in schedule & through copy, to get your message out.

Cost – Pricing for individual spots is based on time of day and day of the week run: $20/spot weekday drive time, $15/spot weekdays mid-day, nights and weekends; and $10/spot late night. WRIR requests a minimum underwriting commitment of $300 to assure your message effectively reaches our listening audience, and offers discounts for commitments in excess of $1000. WRIR offers all not-for-profits, government agencies, and educational institutions additional spots, valued at 10% of total underwriting commitment, at no charge as another way for WRIR to support community organizations and activities

WRIR Underwriters include: Cous Cous Restaurant, Modlin Center for the Arts at University of Richmond,  Richmond Jazz Society, RVA Magazine, Sticky Rice, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
