InterTribal presents:

Greetings and Good Morning! Welcome to your weekend!

I need to apologize for not being in the studio live. It seems someone in my house has tested positive for covid. Due to Station Policy, I can not come in. Lucky for us I was able to get the show completed and turned in before I began to feel ill.

Today’s show is the last fresh new show of InterTribal. It is my understanding that going forward WRIR will play reruns. I just don’t know for how long.

This show does not begin to express my thanks to all the labels, artists and guests who have appeared on InterTribal. But I would like to thank everyone who has contributed content in any form. No I am not able to name them all, but a few are:

Canyon Records, Makoche Music, SilverWave Records, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, Hondo Mesa Music, Owls’ Nest Studio, Tomahawk Records, Vanguard Records, Capitol Records, and so many other independent labels.

Special Guests: Dennis Banks, Felipe Rose (formerly of the Village People), Mato Nanji, Shelley Morningsong, Gabriel Ayala, Steven Rushingwind, Michael Bucher, Flying Down Thunder and Rise Ashen, Members of Sun Shadows, The late Red Hawk, Steve Wyse, Wayne Silas Jr., Keith Secola, Robert Mirabal, Will Clipman, Cary Morin, Pura Fe, Aaron White, Stoney Creek, Youghtanund, Wolf Creek Cherokee Tribal Members and various other guests.

Thank you to Vanessa for joining me a few times as a very special guest. It was always a pleasure to have you in studio.

Special production and co-hosts: Kalani Pioeh and Little Raven, thanks for all the fun and good times. You made my work a little easier.

Again, my apologies for not remembering everyone over the past 17 years. If you are not named, please know you are still appreciated.

I pray you enjoy this last show. No words of wisdom, just lots of music and some goodbyes. In the end, if it had not be for you the listener, InterTribal would not have lasted as long.

Walk in Peace,
Stay Heathy,

Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

Good morning and welcome to your weekend!

This week is 886 weeks since July 9, 2005.

So, today is Show 886. Referencing the show, in essence I raised a child into a young adult.

Today’s show is a mix of memories and new music. I simply hope you enjoy today’s selection.

Walk in Peace,
Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

Good morning and welcome to your weekend.

Today brings us to show number 3 in our countdown. It is also hard to believe that this is the last Saturday in June. That means we are halfway through the year. Where has time gone. Tonight as I write this, I am stressing for all my sisters and brothers, sons and daughters who are going to be affected by the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. This is unacceptable. Even more so is Justice Thomas’s desire to overturn more laws having to do with everyone’s privacy in their own home. More specifically, their bedrooms. I can only hope that today’s music will aid in releasing some of that stress for all of us.

Walk in Peace,
Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

Good morning and welcome to you weekend!

We have arrived to the last four shows of InterTribal. This show being 4 of 4. It is with a heavy heart that I count down the remaining shows. I may sound upbeat, but I am not. It has been a great 17 years and I will miss everyone who has called, visited the station or appeared on the show.

This Sunday is Father’s day, followed by the arrival of Summer on Tuesday at 5:13 AM. The music was selected to celebrate the arrival of Summer and a couple to honor the fathers. Since honoring the fathers should be a daily experience, I decided to keep my primary focus on Summer.

Thank you for joining me every Saturday morning.

Walk in Peace,
Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

Welcome to your weekend, welcome to your Saturday!

InterTribal is the show that makes the sun rise.

Greetings to all of you. Today’s show is #5 in our countdown to July 9, 2022, the celebration of 17 years and our last new InterTribal show.

This week, the universe tested my metal to see how determined I was to produce this week’s show. My internet was out all day Thursday and had to use my cellular hotspot just to produce the show. But I hung in and got it done. So here, for your listening pleasure: The Sun Rising.

Walk in Peace,
Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

Good morning and welcome to your weekend.

Today is 6 of 6 shows left. Ending InterTribal was not an easy decision for me. And I hope someone from the indigenous community will step forward to create their Indigenous music and news shows. But until that happens, please continue to support WRIR. I know they want the Original Voice of  the Americas (Turtle Island) to have an avenue to be heard. If you are interested, please contact WRIR’s Volunteer coordinator.

Enjoy the music selected.

Walk in Peace,
Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

Good morning and welcome to your weekend.

This weekend is a holiday weekend. Though I fail to understand how we can celebrate the lives lost in service to this country. Honor them, yes. But party? No. This is not a fun time for those who lost their children, husbands, wives, sisters, brothers, and parents while serving us. I pray everyone has a somber weekend and hold those we’ve lost dear in our hearts.

Today’s show is called “A Place to Call Home” because so many of us seek that home in another. But we must find it in ourselves first. I am honoring KBong & Raye Zaragoza who just released their new song “A Place to Call Home” this week. You will hear it played later in this show.

Walk in Peace,

Tall Feathers

This is show #7. After today, we only have six more to go.

InterTribal presents:

Good morning and welcome to your weekend.

Last week we experienced technical difficulties and most of last week’s show did not air. Therefore, I have remastered the show to ensure the last two hours from last week, which includes new music.

I have named this show 8 of 8 because the countdown to InterTribal’s last show has officially begun. No, I am not celebrating. I am very saddened by this. But this was my choice so my life can go in new directions. I plan to stay associated with WRIR, but in the background when I can.

Walk in Peace,
Tall Feathers

InterTribal presents:

DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUES, MOST OF THIS SHOW DID NOT AIR. THE LAST TWO HOURS WILL BE AIRED ON 05/21/2022.

Good morning and welcome to your weekend!

Today is Saturday, May 14th, 2022. That means just 8 more weeks until the Anniversary show of InterTribal. Can you believe it has been 17 years since InterTribal aired for the first time at 6 am, July 9, 2005? It has been an amazing journey. I need to say Thank You to each of you because you made this show a popular Saturday morning wake up show. All the memories I have are fond memories of all the drives into the station, especially during winter. Those were always fun. Then there were the drives from Mid-May to July when the sun would begin to crest the horizon before I arrived at the station. These memories also bring with it all the friends I have made here at the station and out doing radio stuff at the various pow-wows or all my interviews on-air or pre-recorded.

These memories make the following difficult to announce because it is like giving up a part of one’s self. I failed to mention it during this session of InterTribal, but next week, I will be officially announcing the end of InterTribal is near. Bringing this show full circle, I will air the last show of InterTribal on July 9, 2022 from 6 to 9 am. We have just 8 more shows after today’s show. I have tried to find volunteers who wanted to learn radio broadcast production in hopes they would take over the show, and so far have not found anyone. That stated, WRIR is committed to welcoming the next person wanting to host an Indigenous radio show.

Let us not mourn the loss of this radio show, but instead, celebrate the 8 more shows to go. It has been a wonderful journey.

Thank you – Tall Feathers
