JOIN MEMBERS OF THE RICHMOND ASTRONIMICAL SOCIETY AS THEY SHARE THEIR POWERFUL TELESCOPES! ON THURDAY, MAY 19, IF THE WEATHER IS NICE, MEET ON THE FRONT LAWN OF THE SCIENCE MUSEUM OF VIRGINIA AT 8:30 PM, AND SEE THE NIGHT SKY AS NEVER BEFORE!
COME TO UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND AND ENJOY PILGRIMAGE AND FAITH: BUDDHISM, CHRISTIANITY, AND ISLAM, ON VIEW IN THE HARNETT MUSEUM OF ART, FROM JANUARY 28 TO MAY 20, 2011, HIGHLIGHTS THE SHARED PILGRIMAGE TRADITIONS OF THREE WORLD RELIGIONS—CHRISTIANITY, BUDDHISM, AND ISLAM. THIS EXHIBITION EXPLORES HOW ART VIVIFIES AND RECREATES THE PILGRIMAGE TRADITION. FEATURED ARE OBJECTS DATING FROM THE TWELFTH CENTURY TO THE PRESENT, WHICH ILLUMINATE THE COMMONALITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF THE PILGRIMAGE EXPERIENCE AMONG THE THREE FAITHS. THIS ENRICHING EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC STARTING AT 1 PM ALL THIS WEEK!
ON FRIDAY, MAY 20, FROM 6:00 TO 10:00 PM, GO GLOBAL AT THE VIRGINIA MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS! GLOBAL BEATS WITH AFRO VIBES WILL KEEP YOU DANCING ALL NIGHT LONG AT THE WORLD MUSIC DANCE PARTY, WITH DJ MIKEMETIC AND AUDIOMASS TRANSIT. A CASH BAR AND FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS FREE EVENTS WILL BE HELD IN THE MARBLE HALL.
COME OUT TO THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR AT UNOS, THE UNITED NETWORK FOR ORGAN SHARING, ON SATURDAY MAY 21STFROM 9 AM TO 2 PM. ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE SEMINARS ON BLOOD 
PRESSURE, CHOLESTEROL AND OTHER HEALTH SCREENINGS; INFORMATION ON NUTRITION, DIABETES, HEART HEALTH, TRANSPLANTS, KIDNEY DISEASE, PROSTATE CANCER AND MUCH MORE. YOU CAN ALSO ENROLL IN A BONE

ON MAY 21ST, BETWEEN 11AM AND 5 PM, COME OUT TO THE THE VIRGINIA HOLOCAUST MUSEUM FOR ITS FREE SPECIAL EXHIBIT, “A BLESSING TO ONE ANOTHER: POPE JOHN PAUL II AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE.” IT WAS CREATED TO EDUCATE, COMMEMORATE AND INSPIRE, THE EXHIBIT IS A MULTIMEDIA, INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE. THIS EXHIBIT IS PROBABLY MOST SUITABLE FOR AGES 18 AND UP.
