Songs about getting what is ours, paying the bills, money and giving thanks.

DO NOT FORGET YOU CAN STILL DONATE.
WE NEED ONE KIND PERSON TO Step up and be the 400th donater and give 200$ or more to get us over that $30,000 hump.

Let's do this thing folks!

Lost Music Saloon: May 9, 2011: 5-7 p.m.: Robert Johnson Special presents:

Lost Music SaloonLost Music Saloon: May 9, 2011: 5-7 p.m.: Robert Johnson Special

Every few months I air one-hour radio specials as a part of my Lost Music Saloon radio shows. Today I'll air 'Robert Johnson: The Centennial Celebration' about "the man and the times in which he lived, the myth of his 'deal with the devil' at the crossroads, and the music he created". It's a music-intensive hour that features interviews with and commentary from Robert Johnson's grandson, writers Peter Guralnick and Scott Barretta, and musicians Corey Harris and Warren Haynes.

I'll aim for airing it around 5:30-6:30 tonight, give or take 5 minutes or so. The half-hour before and after the special won't be restricted to blues at all, but will be more in line with my usual playlists, with perhaps a somewhat bluesier slant.

Click on 'read more' below for the playlist.

See you in the Saloon!

Lydia’s Son’s Show (podcast available!) presents:

Lydia’s Son’s Show (podcast available!)

My annual mother's day tribute to my late mother.

Since yesterday was Mother's day and I don't get to celebrate it anymore since my mother has since passed,I've been taking The Monday Morning Breakfast Blend's the day after and paying tribute to her by playing some of her favorite songs.

My mother was a very musical person, and I inherited my love of music from her.

Because of her,I grew up exposed to some of the most beautiful songs in the great American song book.

As a child,I would beg my mother to turn off that horrible "old people's music".

Now,of course,some 35 odd years later,it's the purest music I know.

So here's hoping that wherever she may be,she's dancing and singing along!
