some slight surface noise for yr frenetic ears! presents:

Altered Circuitrysome slight surface noise for yr frenetic ears!

Hope y'all partied hard at the Party For The Rest Of Us tonight and if you didn't make it, you missed out!  Anna is feeling under the weather so I (slight surface noise Sean) am here in her place.  Brian will probably drop by later and I'll ask him all sorts of questions off the cuff.  It'll be fun.  In the meanwhile, enjoy the tunes I am playing for you this evening and stay tuned for a great mix of music all weekend long.

Global A Go-Go: Friday February 3, 5-7 PM presents:

Global A Go-GoGlobal A Go-Go: Friday February 3, 5-7 PM

This week's episode of Global A Go-Go is dedicated to getting you revved up for WRIR's annual Party For The Rest Of Us, this year celebrating our seventh birthday.  It's at the Renaissance Ballroom, 107 W. Broad Street, starting at 7 PM; all the details are here:

http://www.wrir.org/index.php?/blog/entry/6155
https://www.facebook.com/events/182491748515477

As for my show, it's gonna be a big ol' 2-hour dance party of Balkan, Brazilian, reggae and Latin sounds.  And if the technology gods permit, we'll have a live remote from the Renaissance just around the time the party gets underway.  See you there!

The Rainbow Minute presents:

Friday, February 3 – "Film and Television Powerhouse, Angela Robinson" – Virginia State Delegate Betsy Carr

“Film and Television Powerhouse, Angela Robinson"

Born in San Francisco in 1971, Angela Robinson was devoted to theatre. That is, until watching a lesbian-themed episode of the NBC show, “Friends.” Believing film would better fulfill her goals, she began film studies at New York University.
Robinson’s big break came with her award-winning 2003 short film, D.E.B.S.  Her 2005 G-rated Disney film, Herbie Fully Loaded, is the highest-grossing film directed by a black woman, bringing in $144 million at the box office.  Her television experience includes writing, directing and producing episodes of Showtime’s lesbian series, The L-Word.
Robinson is married to fellow television writer and director Alexandra Kondracke.  They reside in an L.A. neighborhood called Los Feliz, which translates to “the happy ones.”

Take two nationally respected rock critics, the latest music news, personal commentary, and exclusive interviews and performances, add a huge pile of records old and new, and the result is Sound Opinions – the world's only rock and roll talk show.

Based in Chicago, Sound Opinions is hosted by Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot, two of the finest and best-recognized pop music writers in the nation. For over a decade they were dedicated competitors at Chicago’s two daily newspapers – Jim at the Chicago Sun-Times and Greg at the Chicago Tribune. Today, Jim writes about music for Vocalo.org and teaches criticism at Columbia College.

Every week, Sound Opinions fires up smart and spirited discussions about a wide range of popular music, from indie rock to classic rock, hip hop to R&B, and every genre under the sun.

Sound Opinions' consistently informed, engaging, and controversial dialogue makes it a unique and essential source for the top stories, albums, and trends in music. This is cutting-edge criticism and journalism presented in the great tradition of Siskel and Ebert. The discussion is as indispensible to the hardcore music fan as it is to the casual music fan wh
