Students at Henrico High School Center for the Arts and Maggie L. Walker Governor’s

School are rolling out their student shows at Art Works before graduation. The work is

the result of four years of study and ranges from paintings, sculptures, and installations to fashion.

Henrico High and Maggie L. Walker share the main gallery space by exhibiting on different dates.

extravagant affair during the social season more than 100 hundred years ago.

Through vintage photographs, luxury clothing of the era, lavish table settings and floral

displays, the “Elegant Entertaining” exhibition and programs bring to life the social

whirl of the Gilded Age. Whether experiencing the Richmond scene, the extravagances

of Newport’s millionaire set or the fantasy world of Downton Abbey, the “Elegant

Entertaining” exhibition draws back the curtain to allow a glimpse of an era of gracious

living, conspicuous consumption, and scrupulous attention to the details of domestic service and etiquette.

Guided tours available every half-hour; last tour begins at 4:30pm. Weekly on Sunday,
