In honor of fall's spoooookiest holiday, The Horsehead will be spending this upcoming October exploring various subgenres of metal.  Tonight, we focus on the brutality and violence of Death.  Characterized by vocal grunts, growls, heavy riffs, and technical mastery, Death Metal is the Yin to Black Metal's Yang, the aural equivalent of having your face beaten into a bloody pulp.

So, for once, don't sit back.  Instead, stand up, extend your index and pinky fingers, and rock your head back and forth as fast as humanly possible.
