Ambiance Congo / The Other Black Music presents:
Today on Ambiance Congo radio, I’ll feature work from the career of the late great singer and composer extraordinaire Josky Kimabukuta Londa.
He entered this world on February 14, 1949, left this world on March 7, 2021, so February 25 is somewhere close to in between, a good date to play some songs from his long and celebrated career.
I may not have time to play a song from every album shown here and I may play others, but this gives you an idea of his versatility and range.
Every song that I do play today will be one of Josky’s compositions, from his early work with African Fiesta Sukisa to his work with Franco and T.P. O.K. Jazz to his later solo and collaborative albums.
