Cause and Effect presents:
Explore the music of Elvis Presley during the 1970s, from his electrifying 1974 performance at the Richmond Coliseum to his final studio sessions in October 1976. This show takes a closer look at the deep cuts that defined his later years, revealing a more introspective and soulful side of his artistry. We will also hear an eclectic mix of Sun Records legends, the obligatory Glenn Danzig block, and tribute to the blues and gospel pioneers who inspired Elvis’s earliest work. It’s a rich journey through the music that shaped an icon and the influences that helped create it. Oh, and Dread Zeppelin! [correction: early in the program I state that I was born the day Elvis died but I misspoke lol I meant to say year, not day!]
(We won’t be listening to either of these albums, but the covers are cool!)
