Richmond's 3rd Annual Environmental Film Festival will take place Saturday, February 12th 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Byrd Theatre. This festival will offer movies like Who Killed Crassostrea virginica: The Fall and Rise of Chesapeake Bay Oysters and Announcing The First Movie Selection: Once Upon A Time In Knoxville.

The Firehouse Theatre Project is pleased to announce the third show of its 2010 to 2011 season, Bert V. Royal's Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, running Feb. 3 – 26, 2011.  This production is a proud part of the Acts of Faith Festival: America's Largest Faith Inspired Theatre Event. Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts, a Richmond Public School, will be reopening first grade for mid-year transfers for approximately 6 new spots. Applications must by postmarked by January 26th to be considered for enrollment.  No preference will be given to families who get their applications in early.  If applications exceed space, which is an estimated 6 spaces, a lottery will be performed.  Families will be notified of enrollment by February 1st.

Patrick Henry School is the first elementary charter school in Virginia. The school’s charter was approved in October 2008.  The school welcomed 150 children in kindergarten through fifth grade from all over the city of Richmond in August 2010. "Forgotten Roots: Muslims in Early America" — The exhibit explores the Muslims of the African American Diaspora from the 1400s through the 1800s, the Moors, and others in Early America, reflecting America’s Islamic history and culture. "Forgotten Roots" is created by Collections & Stories of American Muslims, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, collection, and exhibition of America’s rich Islamic heritage. The event is co-sponsored by the Muslim Students' Association at VCU, the Virginia Muslim Coalition for Public Affairs, and the Islamic Center of Virginia. This event will take place at the James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Avenue, 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. January 24th. For more details call 804 828 0593.

Come join the Richmond Music Teachers Association for a concert by a variety of musicians including pianists, vocalists, and instrumentalists. This concert will take place 2 pm, January 22nd at the Richmond Public Main Library.
