The Stax Story Part 2

Tonight we'll present you part two of our new series The Stax Story, dedicated to one of the most important record labels in music history. Two weeks ago, we started with the years 1959 until 1964, and we heard tunes from the early Stax legends like Carla and Rufus Thomas, Booker T. & The MGs, The Mar Keys, William Bell and the great Otis Redding. On tonight's show, we'll pick up where we left off, taking you from 1964 through 1966, and we'll hear of the arrival of more great Stax legends like Eddie Floyd, Johnny Taylor and Sam & Dave, and, then as a song writer and producer, the great Isaac Hayes, who would later become one of the biggest stars in Soul music. DJ Pari will dig deep in the Stax catalog, including the label's subsidiaries like Volt and distributor Atlantic Records. This show will be, once again, a keeper!
