Dr. Jay here, and I’m thrilled to be hosting my first episode of Cause & Effect, where we’ll deep dive into one of the most influential bands of the ’80s, who helped pave the way from punk to college rock to alternative rock – The Replacements. They should have been huge, but they just kept shooting themselves in the foot every time they climbed the ladder.
Born in Minneapolis in the late 70’s, they were a huge part of a vibrant music scene that rivalled Seattle 10 years later. We’ll go into their diverse influences, their peers, and just a few of the many bands who claim them as an influence today.
There’s is a story anybody can learn from, not just about life in the music biz but about life in general. I’m psyched to present it to you all, and I hope you enjoy it half as much as I enjoyed pulling it together.
