French Kiss presents:
Today’s Lost Music Saloon celebrates its own 20th ANNIVERSARY!!! Hard for me to believe, but I’ve been DJ’ing my show here on WRIR 97.3 FM for 20 years. It’s all gone by in a flash, or so it seems. I’ll celebrate by re-creating my very first playlist, and including my blog entry that introduced the Lost Music Saloon for the first time back in 2004. ENJOY!!
******************************************************************************
I’ve been toying with the idea of doing my own radio show for years. The stars never aligned properly in the past, but it looks like things are coming together now. Hard to believe, actually, that my first show has finally arrived (Friday, June 18, 5-7:00 p.m.).
Beginnings are important times, and I’ve given a fair amount of thought to choosing the songs to be played on the first edition of the Lost Music Saloon. The focus of the show – – alternative country, roots rock, country-rock, contemporary folk, etc – – is a somewhat fuzzy one. Not only is it difficult to draw any bright lines around any of those types of music, it’s hard to even come up with any definitions that are widely accepted. So I’ll let the music itself do the talking, and the show will define itself as the weeks go by.
C’mon down and wander into the Saloon. It’ll be two hours of the best Lost Music you’re likely to hear!
