Dream Thesis / MIDI Mornings presents:

Stemming from Chicago’s club culture, house music lives on as a fundamental part of electronic music. House music inspired infamous rave scenes and paved way for rave music and festivals as we know them today. Listen to some of the 90s hottest house tracks, along with some underground tracks.

Dream Thesis / MIDI Mornings presents:

In late 1978, radio DJ Steve Dahl was fired from his rock n roll station as the station switched over to play disco music full time. Dahl considered it his new life’s mission to bring down the genre, and he and his new anti-disco followers were “dedicated to the eradication of the dreaded musical disease known as DISCO.” I’m here to let Steve Dahl know he was wrong.

Dream Girl Radio / EXT SRC presents:

For this episode I’m writing a letter to my past self. I’ve mentioned Roni Size & Reprazent’s “New Forms” being one of my gateways into electronic music back in the late 90’s before, but back then I didn’t have the proper resources to explore drum and bass further. I was blindly buying any CD that looked cool and ended up with a few duds. But now I’m here with the power of forums, music blogs, Discogs and recommendation algorithms on my side. Some of these tracks come from CDs in my collection, some are tracks I found just last week. So I hope you enjoy this overview of jazzy, experimental drum and bass that I missed out on as a kid.
