Back today only live in studio to celebrate the fund raiser with you. Let’s set up for $500 this morning. I would really enjoy $1,000, however, I will settle for half.
Thanks for tuning in and making InterTribal a part of your Saturday routine.

InterTribal presents:
Good morning and welcome to your weekend.
Today’s show was guided by the universe. While working on my playlist I came upon music and artists within the Indigenous community I was not familiar with. Next thing I knew, I had about an hour and a half of a playlist assembled. It was at that moment I realized I needed softer tones of flute music to accompany the sunrise.
The last hour is full of contemporary music; club, pow-wow and hip hop mixes.
News:
Yesterday was the virtual dedication ceremony of the new Virginia State Park: Machicomoco. (Virginia’s 40th State Park)
As we begin to emerge from our homes and practice socializing with our new habits of social distancing I hope we all will find ourselves exploring this new blessing. Machicomoco is the first state park dedicated to celebrating the history and legacy of the Native Tribes of Virginia.
Stay safe, stay healthy and wear your masks.

********Due to the power outages, InterTribal is rebroadcasting the January 16, 2021 show.*********
Good morning and welcome to your weekend!
I hope you wake this morning to electricity, warmth, and comfort. We have had a difficult time this past week with ice and power outages. I know I was not able to create a fresh show for you so I decided with the Powers of WRIR to rebroadcast the January 16th show.
Winter is the time of sleep, the time to dream the future of one’s life for the coming seasons. Today’s show focuses on this theme. Hope you enjoy.
Walk in Peace,

Today’s show is prerecorded for your listening pleasure.
Good morning and welcome to your weekend.
Today’s show is dedicated to Emma Henderson, a Navajo elder from the Four Corners area of New Mexico. Emma walked on to the spirit world due to Covid-19 complications on Sunday, January 24, 2021. She was around 75 years old.
Emma leaves behind John Henderson, her husband, and other family members. Sadly, I do not have all the family details. For over 30 years, Emma and John ran a Navajo Work Camp program that shared the values of Navajo life with anyone who was interested. I can only imagine how many people around the world are mourning her passing at this time.
I am including the link to an article written by Ray Gryder in 2014: A Navajo Way of Life: Living Like You Mean It.
I would like to thank Ray Gryder for sharing this information with me. Ray is a good friend of Emma and John Henderson. He had appeared as a special quest on InterTribal a couple of times sharing his experiences with the Navajo Work Camp.
Please send up positive prayers for Emma’s journey and supportive prayers for John, the Henderson family and all the friends grieving today.
Winter Weather and Staying Warm:
According to the weather forecast, we can expect a high of 40 degrees, followed by a nightly low of 26 degrees. My phone app contains a winter weather advisory warning of a major winter storm that is expected to arrive late tonight. This storm could bring a mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet. This makes for extreme winter conditions. Please remain safe.
If the power goes out, please be sure to check on your neighbors in a safe, socially distant sort of way.
Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy the music selected.

Tall Feathers

Good morning and welcome,
History was made this past week on Wednesday. For women, ceilings shattered in various ways. May young women dare to achieve, not just dream.
Sorry this is late being posted.
