First night of Commonwealth Of Notions Volume NINE is coming up this Saturday, so I’ll have some music from the artists that will be performing this first weekend.
Also, new music release by Piranha Rama this weekend, and some Sebadoh since I saw them recently. Plus an assortment of other bands that popped into my head like Television, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Raymond Brake, and several local bands. I’m still figuring it out but hopefully I can make the magic happen this morning!

OOH, do me a favor! It’s going to be VERY hot for the next few days. And when the humidity is high, sweat won’t evaporate as quickly, which keeps your body from releasing heat as fast as it may need to. Here are some hot weather safety tips. Please take care of yourself!
Hot Weather Safety Tips:
- Stay indoors in an air-conditioned location as much as you can.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids even if you don’t feel thirsty.
- Schedule outdoor activities carefully.
- Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing and sunscreen.
- Pace yourself.
- Take cool showers or baths to cool down. A cool damp handkerchief
- Be alert to signs of heat-related illness. Know what to look for and check on other workers that might be at high risk.
- Avoid direct sun. Find shade or block out the sun if possible.
- Check on a friend or neighbor and have someone do the same for you.
- Never leave children or pets in cars.
- Eat smaller meals. Eat fruits high in fiber and natural juice. Avoid high protein foods.
- Avoid getting sunburn. Use sunscreen and wear a hat if working outside.
