Chop Suey Books presents SWAP: Artist Trading Cards in the the Upstairs Gallery until November 9th.  Over 100 original Artist Trading Cards created by students of the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology wil be on view. 1708 Gallery presents “Family Fun Day”.This fun filled day is in conjunction with the gallery’s Exquisite Corpse exhibit and silent auction. There will be lantern making to gear up for InLight Richmond on November 21, as well as a collaborativeExquisite Corpse Drawing and a bake sale by the VCU Phot and Film Department. The First Freedom Center and VCU’s Religious Studies Program are holding a discussion around the question “What did the Founders mean by Religious Freedom?” on Wednesday October 22 from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Historic Cole Digges House at 204 West Franklin Street. For more information call 643-1786

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond holds Open Figure Drawing studios on most Friday evenings. The next Open figure drawing studio is on Friday October 17th drawing from a live model in this open studio. No registration required. For more information visit visarts.org from 6:30 to 9 pm. 

The Richmond Symphony’s Youth Orchestra Program presents a Side by Side Concert featuring The Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday, November 11th  at 7 pm in the Carpenter Theater at Richmond Center Stage located at 612 East Grace Street. On Saturday October 25th The VCU Anderson Gallery is offering an excusion to the Rice Center for Environmental Studies. The trip includes shuttle service and a walking tour of the state-of-the-art field stations on the banks of the James River in Charles City. Shuttle  departs at 9:15.
