Open Source RVA March 9, 2018 presents:

LIGHTS, CAMERA, SOURCE! On today’s edition of Open Source RVA, recorded in Cinema-Scope, host Don Harrison talks about the forthcoming James River Film Festival with the James River Film Society’s Michael Jones and Jeff Roll. This year’s 25th anniversary edition of Richmond’s original film festival will run March 13-18 at screens across town, and feature guest appearances from director Kelly Reichardt (“Wendy & Lucy,” “Night Moves”), Richmond filmmaker David Williams (“Thirteen”) and guitarist / live soundtrack maker Gary Lucas, PLUS the Silent / Music Revival, a screening of Harry Dean Stanton’s final film, “Lucky,” and the amazing found film epic, Dawson City: Frozen Time by director Bill Morrison) and more. Then, Paul Goldman, former head of the Virginia Democratic Party, stops by to speak about Richmond school modernization, and what will happen when and if the governor puts his signature on the amendment that was passed in the General Assembly that prioritizes an actual plan for funding our city schools (remember that referendum?) AND we have a brand new installment of Curtain Call, our bi-weekly look at Richmond’s thriving theatre scene. This week, RTCC reviewers Jerry Williams, Julinda D. Lewis and Rich Griset discuss HATTheatre’s “John & Jen” before Jerry trades barbs with Catherine Shaffner, who plays the title role in “Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End” at Hanover Tavern. THIS SOURCE IS A FLAWED MASTERPIECE, SAY THE EARLY NOTICES! Listen in to our star-studded audio screening Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and http://www.wrir.org. https://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jamesriverfilm.org%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2018%2F02%2FJRFF2018_Web.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jamesriverfilm.org%2F&docid=DReH5MsL37efTM&tbnid=cqRTdn5he_0lTM%3A&vet=1&w=1100&h=1700&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim
