Open Source RVA presents:
TRICK OR SOURCE!!! On Friday’s pumpkin spiced edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, Dina Weinstein talks to Tomiko Tamashiro Pardo, Language Access Coordinator and Interpreter at the Latinos In Virginia Empowerment Center. She talks about the resources available to, and the challenges facing, Richmond’s ever-changing Latino community. THEN Don Harrison discusses Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s controversial policy proposals targeting trans students in Virginia, and the recent protests against those proposals, with community organizer Bo Belotti (pictured). Joined with that, we have a special report on trans youth rights from our own Goad Gatsby, on the scene at the protests and a recent Virginia Board of Education meeting. PLUS, for Halloween, production assistant Chuck Moore gives Don and producer Krysti Albus two weird pod flowers and some sedatives wrapped in chocolate. Now, what could that be about? GET SOURCED Friday noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org.
Playlist temporarily unavailable.
